Cleaning out a used candle jar and inserting a new candle refill in a glass can be a simple and rewarding process. Here are step-by-step instructions for both tasks:
Cleaning Out a Used Burntco Highlands Candle Jar:
Materials Needed:
Used Highlands Collection Large candle jar 280g
Hairdryer
Butter knife or spoon
Paper towels or a soft cloth
Cleaning Steps:
Use a Hairdryer: Use a hairdryer to soften the left over wax from the bottom of your candle jar. Use a butter knife or spoon to lift out the old wick.
Remove Excess Wax: Wipe the melted wax out with a paper towel. Be careful not to scratch or damage the glass.
Wipe out Completely: Wipe all the excess wax out. Make sure it is completely dry before inserting a new candle refill.
Inserting a Burntco Highlands Candle Refill in the Glass Jar:
Materials Needed:
Clean Highlands Collection Large candle jar 280g
Highlands Collection Soy Wax Candle Refill
Wick adhesive (already on bottom of the Refill)
Wick trimmer
Lighter or matches
Refill Steps:
Peel off Thin Sticker from bottom of Refill: Your Refill has an adhesive sticker on the bottom of the Refill base. Peel off the small round thin sticker top layer only on the bottom of the Refill Wick base. Leave the sticky foam round Adhesive layer underneath it in place as this will ensure your refill block wick base sticks to the bottom of your candle jar.
Place the Candle Refill: Insert the candle refill into the clean jar, ensuring it sits evenly at the bottom. Press it down gently to secure it in place.
Trim the Wick: Trim the wick to about 5mm above the surface of the candle wax. This helps control the flame and prevents excessive smoking.
Light the Candle: Use a lighter or matches to light the candle. Allow it to burn until the entire surface has melted, creating an even pool of wax.
Extinguish Safely: When you're done enjoying the candle, use a wick snuffer or similar tool to extinguish the flame without causing excessive smoke. This helps maintain a clean and smoke-free jar.
